My water heater is leaking. What should I do?
Any water heater located in finished space should incorporate a drain pipe that runs to the outside of the house. Your water heater should be installed to meet building code requirements. To ensure the safety of every person in your home, ask your Service Technician to verify that your water heater is up to code. Do the following until your Service Technician is on site:
Electric water heater:
- Shut off electrical breaker
- Close emergency shut off valve
- NOTE: Do not attempt removal of inspection covers with electrical current on.
- Set gas valve to the "Off" position
- Close emergency shut off valve
My fixtures are leaking. What should I do?
Any time you have a fixture leaking you should close the fixtures Emergency Shut-Off valve immediately. NOTE: Ask Your Service Technician where it is located if you cannot find it. A fixture that constantly leaks or runs can make your water bill very costly. If you hear your toilet running or notice any fixtures leaking, call Dipple Plumbing,Inc. for an immediate service call and save yourself the cost of a large water bill.
I have a broken water line. What should I do?
Any time you have a broken water line you should close the Main Emergency Shut-Off valve immediately. NOTE: Ask Your Service Technician where it is located if you cannot find it.
I have a stoppage in my drainage line. What should I do?
If the drainage line from your home to the main sewer line has a stoppage do not run water in your home. Call Dipple Plumbing, Inc. as soon as possible to arrange for service. In the event of a stoppage, it is critical that you do not use caustic chemical treatments found in retail stores. These chemicals may cause drain line damage and create a hazard for your Service Technician.
My washing machine hose is broke. What can I do?
If a hose to or from your washing machine bursts, close the Shut-Off valve and call Dipple Plumbing, Inc. for an immediate service call. When your Service Technician arrives, ask them about Stainless Steel hoses and how they prevent breakages that can cause flooding.
